Police charge man for breaking into area bank

MOUNT UNION - A Shirleysburg man was arrested on two felony charges after breaking into the Mount Union Branch of Community State Bank during the early morning hours of Jan. 22, Mount Union Police Department reports.

Police said Dwayne "Scotty" Smith, 19, was charged with a felony charge of burglary, a felony charge of criminal trespass and criminal mischief after an extensive investigation.

According to the report, Smith was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Mary G. Jamison and was committed to the Huntingdon County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
