CARLISLE - Mildred Swartzell Howell, 94, formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, at Claremont Nursing Home, Carlisle.
Born in McClure, she was the daughter of the late Harry Schilling and Daisy (Huff) Schilling.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Darlington A. Swartzell and Lewis T. Howell.
She was a retired seamstress from the former Kate Greenaway Dress Factory, Harrisburg.
Mildred attended church services at Bethany Towers and enjoyed making crafts and traveling.
Surviving are: her five children, Evelyn Dimeler, Joyce Long, Ralph Swartzell, Jeanne Minnich and Kenneth Swartzell; 13 grandchildren; 24 great- grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Sullivan Funeral Home, Enola.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
Burial will be held in Samuel's Church Cemetery, McClure.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
