Marilyn V. Guyer

MAZE - Marilyn V. Guyer, 75, of Maze, died at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at her home.

Born on Sept. 27, 1937, in Mifflintown, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Edward E. Sr. and Florence K. (Krebbs) Lowrey. On Jan. 16, 1960, she married her husband, Allen R. Guyer, with whom she spent more than 36 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death on April 15, 1996.

Surviving are her children, Bambi L. Guyer and Carey E. Guyer, both of Maze and six siblings, Jackson C. Lowrey, of Mifflin, Charles S. Lowrey, of Mifflintown, Nancy J. Swartz, of McAlisterville, Laurabelle D. Lowrey, of Mifflintown, Richard L. "Boots" Lowrey, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Jenny L. Lowrey, of Mifflintown.

Two brothers, Edward E. "Peanuts" Lowrey Jr., and Robert E. "Bob" Lowrey, one sister, Mada Graham, and one half sister, Helen P. Ranck, preceded her in death.

She was a 1956 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown.

In earlier life, she worked for Zendt Nursing Home, Richfield, Meda Nipple Convalescent Home, Maze, and Nipple's Nursing Home, Liverpool. Later she was employed by the East Salem Shirt Factory and then worked for Rosewood Markets, McAlisterville.

Marilyn enjoyed crocheting, putting together puzzles and solving word finds. Her love of animals, especially dogs, was evident in her support of the SPCA.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Jerry Knouse officiating. Interment will follow in Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.

A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the funeral home.
