Fire doused quickly

A fire started in the basement of this building at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, at 118 N. Grand St., Lewistown. Lewistown Fire Chief Bob McCaa said the cause of the fire is unknown and forcible entry had to be made to gain access to the basement. MaCaa said there was minor damage caused by the fire and there was minor smoke damage. The fire marshall is currently investigating the cause of the fire, McCaa said. Brooklyn Hose Co. was assisted at the scene by Fame EMS, Lewistown Police Department, West Granville Fire Co., United Fire and Rescue, City Hook and Ladder and Derry Township Fire Police.
