Mr. and Mrs. Guy McCardle ... now

They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

After serving in England as a B-17 gunner for 25 missions during WWII, earning an Air Medal and three Oak Leaf Clusters, Guy became a self-employed businessman in Burnham. He established and was head of McCardle Motors, a Lincoln, Mercury and Saab dealership, for 33 years, and The Dairy Belle, an ice cream business that served the community for 15 years.

Irene was involved in running those businesses for many of those years, as well a mother and housewife.

They have lived in Burnham since the end of the war, wintering each of their last 25 years in Palm Harbor, Fla.

They attribute their long-lived time together to staying active and always looking ahead with loving respect for each other.
