Holiday helpers

Lack-Tuscarora Elementary School second grade students, from left, Sage Klauss, Rylan Baumgardner and Gavin Yarnall, fill a box with canned goods and non-perishable items Friday morning. The class decided to give instead of receive this holiday season, so they held a food drive during the month of December. The food will be donated to the McCoysville branch of the Juniata County Food Pantry.

Mifflin County Junior High School ninth grader Maggie Wilson, left, and eighth grader Morgan Shawver, members of the principal’s cabinet, move boxes of donated can and dry goods collected by faculty and students at the school for their second annual food drive. The donated food items will go to the Salvation Army’s food pantry. The school was able to collect 23 boxes of the goods.
