Zinn and husband, Thomas, of Hershey; six grandchildren, Jordan, Benjamin, John, Aaron, David and Nina; and two sisters, Gail Fleisher and husband, Norman, and Lentha Piner and husband, James.
Anita was a 1959 graduate of Lewistown High School and a 1977 graduate of Penn State University. She remained an avid fan of Penn State football.
She was a music teacher at Lewistown Area Middle School, retiring in 1988.
She taught us to sing with joy, to live with strength, to always find the positive in everything and to love with abandon. She taught us to believe in a God who would fill our every need.
Because of her, we love music and teach others to love music.
Because of her, we try each day to be the kind of person that she would be proud of, knowing that she was proud of us anyway. She was always our greatest supporter and she always had words of wisdom just when we needed most to hear them.
Today, we are sad because we've lost our Mom. Still, we know that the angel choir is louder and stronger than ever because she is there to sing. We will miss you, Mom, and love you, and are so thankful for having you in our lives for as long as we did.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the Granville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. G. Edward Corcelius officiating. Interment will be held in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at the church.
Harshbarger Funeral Home, McVeytown, is in charge of arrangements.
