The communications tower and shelter are complete and will be ready once electricity is hooked up to the site on top of the mountain, providing public safety radio coverage. The improvement cost $690,000.

Leister was thanking everyone for believing in the EMS and believing that there was a problem with communication. All the speakers praised the teamwork between the townships — Lack and Tuscarora plus portions of Beale, Spruce Hill, Turbett and Milford townships — the emergency personnel, the Juniata County commissioners, DCNR Bureau of Forestry, SEDA-Council of Governments and Valley Rural Electric Cooperative.
