MIFFLINTOWN - Juniata County Commissioner Jeffrey Zimmerman took a moment Tuesday morning at the board's regularly meeting to thank the Juniata County Business and Professional Women for their help in "decking the halls."
Zimmerman said the organization placed the decorated Christmas tree and garlands at the courthouse and noted that the display looks especially beautiful after dark.
"It's something they very quietly do, but drive by at 9 p.m. and just glance," Commissioner Robert Reynolds encouraged. "It's really just a nice effort that they go through every year."
Also during the meeting, the board approved a number of routine articles of business:
CDBG-IDIS check No. 1148 in the amount of $4,100 to M and E Construction for a housing rehabilitation project, as submitted by Dave Bardell, planning director.
Purchase of Service Agreement between Juniata County Children and Youth Services, the Juniata County Probation Department and Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, as submitted by Helen Henry, Children and Youth director. The agreement is in effect through June 30.
