MOUNTVILLE - Robert H. Pontius, 84, of Spring Hill Lane, Mountville, and formerly of Lewistown and Fort Myers, Fla., died on Dec. 7, 2012, at Lancaster General Hospital, after a short illness.
He was a son of the late William H. and Emily (Book) Pontius, of Lewistown.
He leaves behind: a wife, Joan Pontius, to whom he had been married for 59 years; three children, Nancy Carroll, of Stickney, Ill., Robert W. Pontius, husband of Kathy, of Lancaster, and William T. Pontius, of Norfolk, Va; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild.
Robert was employed by FMC Corporation and later by Mifflin County School District. He was a member of the Lewistown High School Class of 1947. He was a veteran who served in the Korean conflict.
He was an avid baseball fan who enjoyed collecting memorabilia. He was a good father, husband and neighbor to all. He will be greatly missed.
Per the wishes of the family, there will be no services.
