McCLURE - Leroy G. Wray, 88, formerly of McClure, passed away at 6:38 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Brookline Manor, in Mifflintown.
He was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Wagner, a son of the late George D. and Mona (Krick) Wray.
He married Clarissa D. (Lepley) Wray, who preceded him in death in 2004.
He is survived by: four children, Doris Wray, of Mifflintown, Ruth Ann Wray, of Lewistown, Gordon Wray, of Pottstown, and Gwendolyn Sabol, of Pottstown; three grandchildren, Barb Shotzberger, of Lewistown, Erika Wray, of Stowe, and Jason Wray, of West Chester; three great- grandchildren, Wilbur Shotzberger, Tiffany Shotzberger and Haley McDonald; and one brother, Norman Wray, of West Chester.
Mr. Wray attended McClure area schools.
Leroy attended Wagner United Methodist Church, in McClure.
Earlier in life he was a farmer in Douglasville, he owned and operated his own saw mill in Wagner and also worked for Firestone Tires, in Pottstown, as a tire builder for 30 years, retiring in 1980.
Mr. Wray was a member of the American Legion, in McClure, Coon Hunters Club, Decatur Sportsman Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, where the funeral will follow at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in McClure Union Cemetery.
