MOUNT UNION - A Mount Union man has been charged with three felonies related to a structure fire that took place at 10:30 p.m., Saturday, the Mount Union Police Department reports.
Police said that after they assisted Mount Union Fire Co. with the structure fire at 229 W. Davis St., Mount Union, they arrested Franklin D. Hess, 48, of Mount Union, on felony charges of arson, risking a catastrophe and criminal mischief, as a result of the investigation into the fire that determined the fire was deliberately set.
Police said Hess was arraigned before District Magisterial Judge Douglas L. Gummo and was committed to the Huntingdon County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
According to the report there were no injuries reported in the fire and damage to the unoccupied residence was moderate.
