McALISTERVILLE - Dennis A. Dillman Sr., 72, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on July 14, 1940, in Carlisle, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Ida Mae (Batt) Dillman. On May 2, 1970, he married his surviving wife, Connie Kay (Colyer) Dillman, with whom he shared more than 42 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his sons, Dennis A. Dillman Jr. and his wife, Jodi, and David A. Dillman and his wife, Crystal, all of McAlisterville; one sister, Anna Justice, of Severn, Md.; and he leaves behind three precious granddaughters, Cassidy Dillman, Caitlynn Dillman and Brittany Beasom.
One brother, James A. Dillman, preceded him in death.
Dennis was a member of the McAlisterville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Dillman spent more than 31 years in the maintenance department of the Baltimore County schools, retiring in 1989. After retiring, Dennis worked for Fayette Township until 1992.
An avid outdoorsman, Dennis loved hunting, fishing and attending Baltimore Orioles baseball games; however, his greatest joy came from spending time with his granddaughters.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with Rev. Edward D'Agostino officiating. Interment will follow in the Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Oakland Mills.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday, at the funeral home.
