Lewistown Sentinel

Dan and Doris Pursel, of Lorain, Ohio, formerly of Burnham, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. High school sweethearts in the late 1940s, they were married on Nov. 16, 1952, at the Walnut Street Methodist Church in Burnham. They lived in Ellwood Cit until 1969, when they moved to Lorain, where they still reside.

They are the parents of two daughters, Gwen Plummer, and husband, Ken, of Alexandria, Va.; and Amy Kelley, and husband Tom, of Cape Coral, Fla. They have three grandsons: Bryan Kelley and wife, Kristen, of Tampa, Fla.; Brooks Plummer, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Marcus Kelley and wife, Beverly, of Fort Myers, Fla.

Dan worked for U.S. Steel as an industrial engineer for more than 35 years before retiring, and Doris was an active homemaker. Both sang in the church choir for many years and also participated in a variety of church and community activities. They are members of Park Ave, United Methodist Church in Amherst, Ohio.
