McVEYTOWN - A basement fire displaced a family of four early Saturday in McVeytown, Newton Wayne Fire Chief Chad Scott reports.
Scott said the Sergei family, of 27 Fairview Road, McVeytown, is staying with extended family.
American Red Cross volunteers are assisting the two adults and two children with food and clothing and will follow up on any additional disaster needs.
Scott said the fire is under investigation by the fire marshal, who could not be reached for comment as of press time.
Newton Wayne Fire Co. was assisted at the scene by McVeytown, West Granville and Mill Creek fire companies and McVeytown and Fame EMS, Scott said.
