LEWISTOWN - Samuel W. Ematat Sr., 67, of Lewistown, died at 3:55 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.
Born on June 22, 1945, in Reading, he was the son of the late Samuel C. and Beverly Ematat.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Trutt) Ematat, whom he married on June 12, 1964.

He is also survived by: a daughter, Michele Houser, of Milroy; a son, Samuel W. Ematat, Jr., and wife, Vicki, of Reedsville; brother, Donnie Toner, of Scotland, Pa.; and five grandchildren, Amanda Houser, Kenneth Houser, Andrew Bishop, Erin Bishop and Tai Ematat.
Samuel was a 1964 graduate of Lewistown High School and he served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Lear Corp.
He enjoyed time with family and friends. He belonged to the VFW, various bowling leagues and enjoyed woodworking and crafts.
A memorial service will be held at 7p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Kish Presbyterian Church, Taylor Park. The Rev. Douglas Sabin will be officiating.
