MIFFLIN - Richard C. "Rick" Huff, 54, of Mifflin, died at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the home of his companion.
Born July 18, 1958, in Derry Township, Mifflin County, he was a son of Emma D. (Baxter) Huff, of Mifflintown, and the late Richard L. Huff Sr. His companion of 19 years, Kimbra L. Schreiber, survives.
In addition to his mother and companion, he is survived by: his children, Tina R. Huff, of Mifflintown, Richard C. Huff, of Millerstown, Andrew David James Huff, of Lebanon, and a stepson, Chad A. Schreiber, of Mechanicsburg; and three brothers, Richard L. Huff Jr., Robert L. Huff and Randy L. Huff, all of Mifflintown.
Richard was a 1976 graduate of Juniata High School, Mifflintown, and he served with the military police of the U.S. Army, having a tour of duty in Korea.
He was employed by various construction companies as a heavy equipment operator.
His memberships included: the American Legion Post 298, the Crawford- Brubaker Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5863, both of Mifflintown, and the Juniata River Angler's Association.
Rick loved NASCAR, and was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting, fly fishing and camping; however, he always enjoyed his week-long boating and fishing trip on the Juniata River, with his companion, Kim.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Nov. 24, 2012, at the Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown, where the Juniata County Veterans Council will accord full military burial honors.
