Helping hands

November 20, 2012
Lewistown Sentinel
Sarah Dressler, third grade, ties a knot on a blanket end Monday at Juniata Mennonite School in McAlisterville. Juniata Mennonite School students in grades 3, 4, and 5 made blankets to be shipped with Operation Blessing to aid Hurricane Sandy victims in New Jersey. Deamer Trucking is taking a number of items like these blankets to New Jersey in December. South Juniata Baptist Church donated the kits for the blankets which had originally been used for a vacation Bible school program. A total of 60 blankets were made, 28 of which were made by JMS students for this particular Thanksgiving project. Additional donations such as clothing, bedding, household goods can be dropped off at the Old Hit and Run in East Waterford.
