Fame EMS grateful for another successful parade

November 17, 2012
Lewistown Sentinel

To the editor:

Once again the Fame EMS Halloween parade was a big success despite the effects of Hurricane Sandy that was still looming in the area. The seventh version of this parade would not have been possible without the continued support of area businesses, organizations and community members.

We would like to take this time to thank the following: Lewistown Borough for allowing us to continue to have the Halloween parade; Chief Herkert and the Lewistown Police Department for their services; Tony Groce and staff from Lewistown Borough for placing signs on the parade route; Connie Lucas, borough manager; Lewistown Kiwanis Club members Fred Richard, Bob Richard, Al Hughs, Janie Welshans and Jim Grant for being judges; Trolley Car for their generous donation for awards; Jerry Hummel for the use of the parking lot to organize the high school bands; local area fire police for traffic control through the parade route; East Derry Volunteer Fire Co., City Hook and Ladder, United Fire and Rescue, Brooklyn Hose Co. and Junction Fire Co. for supplying lighting.

We would also like to thank all the parade participants that made the parade a success. Without the continued support of the community we would not be able to make the parade happen. Again, I would like to thank all of you and hope that we can make the eighth annual parade bigger and better.
