Guy McCardle, left, of Lewistown, is greeted and presented with a gift for his service to the United States Army Air Corps during World War II by guest speaker Lt. Col. Matthew M. Sieber at the Rotary Club of Lewistown’s annual ‘Take a Veteran to Lunch’ program held Tuesday at Rec Park Community Center. Sgt. McCardle flew 25 missions as a waist gunner in a B-17 Flying Fortress, downing a Nazi fighter plane. Sieber was raised in Reedsville and is a 1987 graduate of Kish High School. He has deployed in support of five military Operations between 1994 and 2010 and is currently a student at the United States Army War College in Carlisle.
