McVEYTOWN - Mildred E. Miller, 80, of Rothrock Apartments, McVeytown, died at 3:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at her home.
A daughter of the late James G. Youtzy and the late Elizabeth (Stence) Boaz, she was born on Aug. 28, 1932, in McVeytown, and raised by her grandmother, the late Charlotte "Lottie" Youtzy. Her husband, Robert P. Miller, whom she married March 30, 1951, preceded her in death on April 30, 2003.
Surviving are: two daughters, Carolyn Harlon, of Yeagertown, and Cindy Yoder and husband, Brian, of Lewistown; two sisters, Anna Sechrist, of McVeytown, and Irene Ritchey and husband, Marshall, of McVeytown; five grandchildren, Lisa Treaster and companion, Jeannie Beward, Shannon Yetter, Caleb Yoder, Joshua Yoder and Todd Harlon; and one great-grandson who was very special to her, Kaden Yetter.
She was also blessed with special caregivers, Debbie Lineberry, Doreen Pent, Mary Sweitzer, most recently Mollie Amspacher and the staff of Home Nursing Agency, as well as a special friend, Diane Rittenhouse.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, William Harlon Sr.
Employed at Lewistown Hospital, in environmental services, she retired in 1998.
She was a member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren and enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, with the Revs. Donald E. Peters and John Walters officiating.
Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown.
