MIFFLINTOWN-Jack L. Bossinger, 73, of Mifflintown, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Nittany Valley Medical Center, State College.
Born Oct. 31, 1939, in Milford Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Lloyd A. and Gertrude W. (Lyter) Bossinger.
He is survived by: one daughter, Mary Ann "Sue" Crouse, of Mifflintown, and her companion, Paul Zeiders; one son, Dr. Steven O. Bossinger, of Hollidaysburg; one sister, Deborah K. Beward and her husband, Donald, of Mifflintown; five grandchildren, Bryce, Hayden, Seth, Holden and Gavin; and nieces and nephews, Robert and Richard Bossinger, Tony and Brian Beward and Julie (Beward) Goshorn.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Delorus "Sis" Barth, and one brother, Robert A. Bossinger.
Jack graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1958 and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Pennsylvania State Trooper, retiring in 1997 after 35 years of service.
He was a member of the American Association of State Troopers and a life member of Crawford- Brubaker Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5863, Mifflintown.
His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Chris Mathiason officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley.
There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Guss Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown. There will be no viewing at the church.
