MIFFLINTOWN - Republican Tom Marino came out victorious in the race for Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District over Democratic challenger Phil Scollo.
According to the unofficial results, Marino secured 162,948 votes and Scollo secured 82,869 votes overall.
Marino secured 6,777 votes and Scollo secured 2,370 votes, in Juniata County, and Marino secured 11,624 votes and Scolle secured 4,870 votes, in Mifflin County, according to unofficial results.
"It is overwhelming," Marino said. "There are so many people around me with support. I received a majority of the votes which means some of the Democrats voted for me."
"Thanks everyone for support and I will keep up with the commitment I made to Pennsylvanians," Marino said, "I want to get back to work now that the election is over."
Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District spreads across much of northeastern and central Pennsylvania, bordering New Jersey and the New York. A total of 15 counties are included in the 10th District.
Marino came to Congress in January 2011 when he was victorious over then incumbent Chris Carney by 10 percentage points in November 2010.
According to a biography on Marino's website, Marino earned his bachelor's and law degrees in five years, attending the former Williamsport Area Community College, Lycoming College, and Dickinson School of Law.
Marino practiced law for several years before being elected to two terms as District Attorney of Lycoming County. He later served as U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
"We need to cut the spending more and do it wisely," Marino said about future plans, "We need to downsize Washington and balance the budget, that is key.
"We have a lot of work to do and I'm willing to cross the aisle to take care of the people of Pennsylvania," Marino said.
All results are unofficial until ratified by elections officials.
