LEWISTOWN - Incumbent State Rep. Kerry Benninghoff, R-Bellefonte, pulled off a landslide victory over democratic challenger Christopher Lee in the race for the 171st district in the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
Benninghoff said he was very humbled by the voters who have entrusted him to serve another term.
"It's a honor for me to serve another term, I don't take re-election for granted," the eight-term representative said.

Benninghoff said once the new statewide redistricting is ratified he will pick up Decatur and Union townships, in addition to Armagh and Brown townships.
Currently the 171st district encompasses Armagh and Brown townships in Mifflin County, as well as portions of Centre County.
Overall voter turn out according to unofficial election results was 67 percent, which is above average.
According to the unofficial results, Benninghoff secured 18,325 votes while Lee secured 10,002 votes.
Benninghoff currently serves as the Chairman of the House Finance Committee and also serves as Chairman of the Rural Health Caucus.
Lee is the CEO of the Boal Museum in Boalsburg, he also serves on the Government Affairs and Infrastructure Committees of the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County.
State Rep. Adam Harris, R- Mifflintown ran unopposed in the 82nd district. Harris has served in the General Assembly since 2002. According to unofficial election results, Harris secured 18,933 votes. The 82nd district encompases portions of Mifflin, Juniata and Snyder counties.
State Rep. Mike Fleck, R-Huntingdon, ran unopposed in the 81st district. Fleck was first elected in 2006. According to unofficial election results, Fleck secured 18,371 votes. The 81st district encompasses portions of Mifflin, Huntingdon and Blair counties.
All results are unofficial until they are certified by election officials in the coming days.
