BELLEVILLE - Claire M. Lyter, 92, of 41 Greenwood Road, Belleville, died at 5:31 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at her home.
Born Oct. 27, 1920, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late John T. and N. Lorene (McConell) Young. She is survived by her husband, John G. Lyter, whom she married May 6, 1939.
Also surviving are: son, John Robert Lyter and his wife, Mary Ann, of Belleville; grandchildren, Monica A. Fetters and her husband, Donald W., of Reedsville, and Christie L. Leister and her husband, Kim, of New Lancaster Valley; stepgreat-grandson, Zachery Leister; and brother-in-law, Larry Eugene Lyter, of Bellefonte.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Snook.
Claire was primarily a homemaker. She attended Belleville High School, was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Belleville Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliarly and a volunteer at the Belleville Fireman's Festival for a number of years.
She enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting owls, reading, spending time with her cats and most of all, she had a very special love for her family, especially her two granddaughters.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville, with Pastor Paul Kampa officiating.
Interment will be held in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville.
