MIFFLINTOWN - A 42-year-old Mifflintown man charged with repeatedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl waived a preliminary hearing on Thursday in Port Royal.

Police said they received information that Erik A. Guiser, of Mifflintown, was possibly sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl.

Pennsylvania State Police and Juniata County Children and Youth Services interviewed the girl during which she alleged that she was sexually assaulted on numerous occasions between January and mid-August of this year, according to court documents.

On the same day, Guiser was interviewed by a State Police Criminal Investigation Unit member when he admitted to several incidents of sexual abuse, police said.

Guiser was charged through Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline T. Leister's office with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, sexual assault, incest and indecent assault.

Leister recused herself from the case and had the preliminary hearing gone forward as scheduled, an out-of-county judge would have presided over the hearing.

Anthony Forray of the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office has been assigned to prosecute the case. Guiser is represented by Randall Zimmerman.

Guiser remains free on $25,000 bail. A formal arraignment has not yet been scheduled.
