PARTRIDGE - Ervin J. Miller, 94, of Partridge, died Oct. 29, 2012, at his home.
Born July 4, 1918, in Thomas, Okla., he was the son of Joseph J. and Josephine Miller.
He attended schools in Custer County, Okla., and was a retired farmer and seedsman, having established Miller Seed Farms in 1947.
Ervin was a member of the Center Amish Mennonite Church. He was a former member and was active in the Kansas Crop Improvement Association.
Ervin married Mary Martha Nisly on Dec. 18, 1941, in Hutchinson, Kan. Mary Martha died Aug. 19, 2007.
Survivors include: five sons, Glenn Leon Miller and his wife, Anna, of Hutchinson, Harold Dean Miller and his wife, Ruth, of Honey Grove, LaVerne Miller and his wife, Rebecca, of Partridge, Marvin Miller and his wife, Ruth, of Suceava, Romania, and Loren Miller and his wife, Dolores, Canon City, Colo.; two daughters, Alma Miller and her husband, Edward, of Partridge, and Lillian Nisly and her husband, Arthur, of San Salvador, El Salvador; 48 grandchildren; and 73 great-grandchildren.
Ervin was preceded in death by: a son, Paul Jay Miller; a daughter, Pauline May Miller; and five grandchildren, Paul Miller, Kari and Evie Nisly, and Jared and Grant Miller.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Center Amish Mennonite Church. Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at the church.
Burial will be held in West Center Cemetery, near Partridge.
