LEWISTOWN - Tyrus V. Kurtz, 94, of Lewistown, died at 2:47 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Oct. 3, 1918, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late John C. and Jennie M. (Snook) Kurtz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Blake E., Donald S. and John E. Kurtz.

Surviving is a sister, Josephine M. Kurtz, of Lewistown.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. He worked at Bethlehem Steel, retiring in 1985 and also worked at Haws Factory.
Tyrus was a member of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
He enjoyed times with family and friends, hunting, fishing and spending time at Bixler's Gap Hunting Camp.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. John Looney officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday.
Interment with VFW Post 7011 honors will take place in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
