Asks for support for church spaghetti supper

October 20, 2012
Lewistown Sentinel

To the editor:

I am writing to ask the general public to support our next fundraising event.

Our next event will be a spaghetti supper at the White Memorial Church on Main Street, Milroy.

The proceeds from this event will be given to an organization with special needs.

For the October supper the net profit will be given to the shelter in Lewistown.

As you may be aware they have a situation that needs to be corrected. There is a great need for this family to help people with special needs.

We appreciate the dedicated service of Wilda Fisher and her staff. For their humanitarian services.

A few years ago a missionary addressed a larger group of people here in Mifflin County. I hope I always remember one of his comments. He said, "If you had something to eat today and had a safe comfortable place to rest and sleep you have been truly blessed." I don't think you could describe the services of the shelter any better than this.

The patrons of this service probably never envisioned that they would be in need of this facility. "There but by the grace of God go I."
