LEWISTOWN - Samuel E. Elsesser, 86, of Meadowoods Drive, Lewistown, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Valley View.
Born May 31, 1926, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Henry and May (Sellers) Elsesser.
Samuel is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean (Klose) Elsesser.
Also surviving are: two daughters, Bonnie Elsesser Schultz and her husband, Terry, of Reading, and Vickie Elsesser Vu and her husband, Anh Vu, of Mechanicsville, Md.; son, Mark Elsesser and his wife, Deb, of Lewistown; stepchildren, Jamie Young, Mark Spigelmyer and his wife, Pura, of Lorton, Va., and Amy Spigelmyer Wilson and her husband, Rodney, of Lewistown; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Samuel was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Price Elsesser, and a granddaughter, Emilie Thi Nicole Vu.
Samuel was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
Early in life, Samuel owned and operated Elsesser's Produce and later owned Lewistown Paper Co., until his retirement in 1986.
Samuel was a member of First United Methodist Church, of Lewistown. He enjoyed collecting coins, stamps and working in the yard.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Juniata Memorial Park, with the Rev. Karen McCachren officiating.
