BELLEVILLE - Phyllis K. McClenahen, 89, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, formerly of Harvard Street, Lewistown, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012.
Born Nov. 20, 1922, in Yeagertown, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Wolfkill) Kuppel. Her husband, Robert J. McClenahen, preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 2002.
Phyllis is survived by: a son, Daniel McClenahen and his wife, Cathy, of Reedsville; grandchildren, Matthew McClenahen Esq., of State College, and Megan Boyer and her husband, Matthew, of Burnham; and great- grandchildren, Evan Z. Boyer and Kyle G. Boyer.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Terry R. McClenahen, in 1963; three sisters, Lois E. Van Art, Frances Dolin and Shirley Forgach; and one brother, William Kuppel.
Early in life, Phyllis worked at the American Viscose. She retired from Cluett and Peabody Shirt Factory in 1978 after 28 years.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 283 and attended Grace United Methodist Church, Lewistown.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m Monday, Oct. 15, at the chapel of Valley View Haven, Belleville, with the Revs. Richard Bender and Gerald Peachey officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. There will be a viewing from 1:30 until the time of the service at Valley View Chapel.
