YEAGERTOWN - Roxie L. Gunderman, 87, of Yeagertown, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at the Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, in Lewistown.
Born on Nov. 17, 1924, in Yeagertown, she was a daughter of the late William W. and Margaret E. (Bratton) Gunderman.
She is survived by her sister, Bernice Potts and her husband, William, of Blairsville, along with six nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Genevieve Betlyon and Audrey Guerrini and brother, R. Max Gunderman.
Roxie graduated from Yeagertown High School and was a lifelong member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Yeagertown. She was employed at the Mifflin County Court House in the office of Children and Youth Services for 41 years. She retired in 1990 and was honored by Mifflin County on March 22, 1990, which was named Roxie Gunderman Day.
Roxie volunteered her time for several years at the Yeagertown Senior Center, helping with many election voting days. Over the years, she enjoyed traveling, including to Europe and Hawaii, attending local cultural performances and flower gardening.
A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham, with the Rev. John W. Betlyon officiating.
