MIFFLIN - David C. "Bing" Benner, 60, of the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin, and formerly of McAlisterville died peacefully at 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the village.
Born on April 1, 1952, in Derry Twp., Mifflin County, Mr. Benner was a son of the late George P. and Edna A. (Ayers) Benner.
He is survived by: a son, Matthew Benner, of Henderson, Nev.; a brother, Allan G. Benner and his wife, Judith; one nephew, Jeffrey Benner and his wife, Stacy and their two children, of Lakeland, Fla.; and one niece, Alissa Rosenberry and her husband, Gary, and their son, of Mifflin.

David was a 1970 graduate of East Juniata High School, Cocolamus, a graduate of Williamsport Area Community College, and a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, McAlisterville. He was also a member of the Lost Creek Hunting Club and the Lost Creek Golf Course.
Mr. Benner was employed in the parts department of Mertz Ford, McAlisterville, until retiring due to his illness.
"Bing" was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and playing golf.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Erin Bovendam officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
Viewing will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service, Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the funeral home.
