LEWISTOWN - Edwin R. "Doc" Michael Sr., 75, of 320 S. Wayne St., Lewistown, died at 5:44 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at the Lewistown Hospital.
Born Dec. 1, 1936, in Mifflintown, he was a son of the late James A. Sr. and Evelyn I. (Fascik) Michael.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Sara G. (Druckemiller) Michael, on Aug. 8, 2009; his brother, James A. Michael Jr.; and sister, Margaret Hosler.

Edwin is survived by: his children, Edwin R. Michael Jr. and wife, Kimberly, and Sheila Michael, all of Lewistown; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings, Bryan L. Michael and wife, Esther, of Burlington, N.C., Vivienne Willis and husband, James, of Dingman Ferry, Robert F. Michael, of Port Royal, Sharon Hockenberry and husband, Richard, of Quakertown, Walter M. Michael Sr. and wife, Jane, of McClure, and Larry L. Michael and wife, Nancy, of Burlington, N.C.
He was employed as an assembler at the Overhead Door Corporation, retiring in 1996. After retirement, he was a volunteer at the Salvation Army in Lewistown.
He was a member of the VFW Post 7011, Lewistown, American Legion Post 90 and the Brooklyn Hose Company.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with the Rev. George Mark officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
