LEWISTOWN - Donald M. Limes, 81, of Lewistown, passed away at 1 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the Ohesson Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness.
Born July 28, 1931, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Donald L. Limes and Mary R. Steffen.
Don is survived by: his loving wife of 59 years, Dawn (Keiser) Limes; their three children, Terri Limes, Jeffery Limes and wife, Kathy, and Suzanne LaMarca and husband, Michael; and grandchildren, Ryan and Bethany Limes and Katie LaMarca, all of Lewistown.
Donald M. Limes
Don was a 1951 graduate of Lewistown High School and a graduate of Shippensburg State College, Class of 1959 where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education. He received his Master's Degree and Administrative Certification from Penn State University.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served four years aboard the aircraft carriers USS Hornet and USS Philippine Sea, during the Korean Conflict.
Don was employed by the Mifflin County School District, first as an elementary teacher, then an elementary principal and later as director of Elementary Education and Federal Programs. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and served three terms on the church council.
He enjoyed reading, travelling, going to the beach and spending time with his family.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
