From staff reports , Lewistown Sentinel

MIDDLEBURG - Through the first 80 minutes of play between Midd-West and Danville Wednesday, there was no score.

Through the first overtime period, no score.

Then, with less than four minutes to play in the second overtime, Danville's Andrew Smith tallied an unassisted goal to give the Ironmen a 1-0 Heartland Conference win.

"We had a rough first half," Midd-West coach Chris Sauer said. We struggled to put anything together and Danville had a lot chances early."

None of those chances found the net however. And a lot of that had to do with Midd-West keeper Austin Hockenbrock's play.

"Austin had a really good game," Sauer said. "He came out and won a lot of crosses in the box and really preserved the game for us."

Midd-West (3-2, 2-1 HAC) travels to Selinsgrove today.
