Police: Man arrested for burglary, trespassing at Milroy residence

MILROY - A "highly intoxicated" man broke into a Milroy residence he mistakenly thought was the home of a person seeing his ex-girlfriend early Monday morning, Mifflin County Regional Police Department reports.

Police said upon responding to the report of the break-in, they found a 46-year-old man staggering along Electric Avenue in Milroy. The report states the man was identified as Donald A. Lynch Sr., of Lewistown

According to the report, Lynch was identified as the man who had broken in, admitting to breaking the sliding glass door. He was found to be highly intoxicated, police said.

Police said Lynch claimed the person he thought lived there was seeing his ex-girlfriend. According to the report, the homeowner did not know Lynch or the person Lynch believed to live there.

Lynch was charged with two felonies - burglary and criminal trespassing - a misdemeanor for criminal mischief and a summary public drunkenness offense. The report states the charges were filed through the office of Magisterial District Judge Aaron L. Gingrich.

Police said Lynch was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility pending his arraignment.
