Lane changes coming on U.S. 322

September 8, 2012
From staff reports , Lewistown Sentinel

LEWISTOWN - Lane restrictions in place on U.S. 322 between Reedsville and Burnham change this weekend.

Eastbound traffic will no longer use the crossover into the westbound lanes but will move into a single lane pattern using the eastbound, right/travel lane.

Westbound traffic will continue using the right/travel lane as barriers are removed between the lanes and guide rail replaced.

While the lane changes are taking place, motorists should reduce their speed and be alert for crews working in the median and close to the roadway.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation expects all four lanes to be open to traffic by late in the day on Tuesday. All four lanes will remain open through the winter and PennDOT will issue a project update in the spring when work resumes.

The lane restrictions were necessary as work took place on a multi-year bridge rehabilitation project on Route 322 from Reedsville to Burnham in Derry and Brown townships. Work includes bridge repair, painting, drainage and paving. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc., of State College, is the contractor on this $11.8 million job.
