NEWPORT - James Warren Yohn, 80, of Newport and Port Royal, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2012, at his home in Port Royal.
Born Sept. 25, 1931, in Spruce Hill Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Austin Clyde and Sallie M. (Jeffries) Yohn.
His wife, Mary A. (Nissley) Yohn, whom he married May 28, 1959, survives.
Also surviving are: one son, Clyde W. Yohn and wife, Geanne, of Dauphin; two daughters, Larraine Mehaffie and husband, John, of Harrisburg, and Donna Schollenberger and husband, David, of Boyertown; one granddaughter, Katrina Richard and husband, Shawn, of Harrisburg; one sister, Lila Gardner, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin; and many stepgrandchildren.
Mr. Yohn was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He retired as a supply clerk after 28 years of service with Penn National Insurance Co., Harrisburg. He was a life member of the NRA.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Frank J. Swartz officiating. Viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Academia Cemetery, Beale Township, Juniata County, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
