REEDSVILLE - John A. "Tony" Conti, 89, of Reedsville, died at 3:27 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2012.
Born July 13, 1923, in Shrader, he was the son of the late Daniel D. and Lily (Catina) Conti.
He is survived by: his wife, Dorothy L. "Dot" (Laub) Conti, whom he married on March 31, 1951; his son, John P. Conti and wife, Debra, of State College; his daughter, Barbara S. Conti, of State College; his grandchildren, Gina Woskob, Bethany Little and Toni Conti; and great-grandchildren, Helena and Tiya.
He also is survived by his sister, Mary Conti, of Milroy.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Pasquile Conti, and his sister, Betty Conti.
Tony was a 1942 graduate of Lewistown High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.
Early in life, he was employed at Barnett's Electric in Milroy and was then employed as an electrician for IBEW Local 143 in Harrisburg.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both in Lewistown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Fidelis Umukoro officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville, with graveside military rites conducted by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
His family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass Thursday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tony's memory can be made to Sacred Heart School, 110 N Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
