MIFFLINTOWN - Stanley T. "Pete" Worrall, 70, of Mifflintown, died at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at the Bridges of Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born on March 26, 1942, in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Walter R. Sr. and Kathaleen E. (Britcher) Worrall. On Sept. 20, 1958, he married his surviving wife, Jamesina (Elder) Worrall, with whom he shared nearly 54 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: three daughters, Tamra B. Page, Trisha R. Haubert and her husband, Ken, and Teresa L. Williams and her husband, Paul, all of Mifflintown; two siblings, Walter R. Worrall Jr. and Roxie Bell, both of Mifflintown; nine grandchildren, Zeb Page, Jenna Graff, Danielle Reighter, Lindsey Haubert, Eric Haubert, Ethan Haubert, Colleen Williams, Kathleen Williams and Aaron Williams; three great-grandchildren, Hayley Zeiders, Quinn Page and Justus Graff; and three new friends, Lauren Hepner, Lindsay Hepner and Lucas Hepner.
Five sisters, Esther Dunn, Betty Gray, Eleanor Weiand, Donna Andrus and Faye DeArmitt as well as three brothers, Clark M. Worrall, James Eugene Worrall and Floyd A. "Red" Worrall, preceded him in death.
Mr. Worrall was a member of the Arch Rock United Methodist Church, Arch Rock, where he served as a trustee of the church. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Rural Municipal Systems, and he had also served on the Juniata County Planning Commission.
In earlier life, he was employed by Kauffman's Dairy, Mifflintown, after which he owned and operated Worrall's ARCO, Mifflintown. During this time, he also served as a Juniata County Deputy Sheriff, under Sheriff Tom Nipple. Later he retired as the manager of the Mifflintown Municipal Authority, with 34 years of service. After retiring, he had been serving his second term as a supervisor for Fermanagh Township.
"Pete" will long be remembered as an avid Juniata High School sports fan, who loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. The racing careers of Keith Kauffman and Dale Earnhardt were always of interest to "Pete;" however, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, from the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Gerald Miller. Interment will follow in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Viewing will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at the funeral home.
