To the editor:
We would like to thank everyone who helped make our Upward Sports Basketball Scholarship Fund drive at the Milroy Alliance Church yard sale, a great success. This will be our second year of offering this ministry that reaches out to our community in helping to build character, principle and values in our children's lives. Our desire is to enable every child that wants to play, the opportunity to play.
The difficult hardship for many families, may cause them to think it's not affordable, but once again, because of your support through the yard sale, we are going to be able to offer discounts.
Every family of two or more children will receive some scholarship money on a first come basis. There will also be discounts available for those children that are not able to come up with the full participation fee.
Again, thanks so much for your support in enabling us to give back. Be watching for the new seasons advertising that will begin Oct.1.
