To the editor:
Thanks to the generous contributions made by residents, businesses and organizations, the Juniata Valley YMCA's Annual Pasta Dinner event was a success. All proceeds from the event will go toward the Community Support Campaign. The Campaign allows the Y to continue to help those in need learn, grow and thrive. Monetary gifts to the YMCA stay in the community, directly supporting services and programs that have a positive impact on residents right here in the Juniata River Valley.
Many people within the community rely on the essential services and programs the Y offers. But without the support the Y receives from our members, volunteers, staff, partners and community at large, the Y would not be here to serve our neighbors. The community support enables the Y to not only continue with the work already in place, but help expand to reach to more people in need. The campaign also helps kids have a safe place to learn and build confidence; families can reconnect together and people have access to education and training to reach their full potentials.
As one of the leading nonprofits for strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Juniata Valley YMCA depends on financial gifts to do its vital work so that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has an opportunity to receive the support and guidance to learn, grow and thrive. The Y believes that when people have a place to feel welcome, have someone to encourage them, and opportunities to participate in activities that interest them, they are more likely to identify and achieve their personal goals.
