LANCASTER - In Tri-Valley League action, East Juniata golf came away with a win on Thursday afternoon at the Conestoga Country Club golf course.
East Juniata shot an overall team score of 352, followed by Newport with a 372, Lancaster Country Day with a 379 and Millersburg with a 397.
"We were on a completely new golf course, and we were also playing Lancaster Country Day, who we didn't know anything about," East Juniata coach Mike Zendt said.
East Juniata's unfamiliarity with both course and competition did not prove to be an issue, however, as the team led all others by a decisive 20-point spread.
Jeremy Pannebaker, of East Juniata, carded an 85 to lead his team in scoring.
East Juniata (3-0) hosts a Tri-Valley League contest against Mount Union, Millersburg and Newport at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
