MIFFLIN - Helen L. Wright, 90, of Mifflin (Licking Creek), died at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at her home.
Born May 5, 1922, in Lockport, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Burt A. and Della C. Thompson. Her husband, William Kennedy "Bill" Wright, preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1969.
She is survived by: her daughter, Susie Haines, of Lewistown; two grandchildren, Jill Pellman and her husband, Bob, of Oakland Mills, and David W. Haines, of St. Augustine, Fla.; five great-grandchildren, Ryan C. Pellman, Zachary D. Pellman, Coty J. Snyder, Kim L. Snyder and Tyler D. Snyder; as well as a nephew, Joseph Livingston Jr., of Lockport, N.Y.
She was the last of her generation, having been preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Livingston, and one sister, Dorothy Hemperley.
Mrs. Wright was a 1940 graduate of Lockport High School, Lockport, N.Y., and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin.
She retired in 1982 as a supervisor, after more than 25 years of service for the Pa. Department of Transportation, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Harrisburg.
Helen enjoyed reading and in earlier life loved to travel.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at the Union Cemetery, Mifflintown, with Pastor Gay L. Irwin officiating.
There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juniata County Library, 498 Jefferson St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.
