LEWISTOWN - Edward D. Piper, 78, of Lewistown, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:46 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, in the Lewistown Hospital emergency room.
Born Feb. 21, 1934, in Granville Township, Lewistown, he was the son of the late Clair E. and Flo J. (Cherry) Piper.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Harrell) Piper, whom he married on Nov. 21, 1987.

He is also survived by: children, Steven E. Piper and wife, Stacey, Timothy W. Piper and wife, Linda, Emily J. (Piper) Hartzler and husband, David, and E. Joseph "Joey" Piper, all of Lewistown; brother, Calvin H. Piper and wife, Carol, of Lewistown; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by: his first wife, Frances L. (Lewis) Piper; three infant children; one granddaughter, Kourtney Piper; brother, Timothy C. Piper; and sister, Daryle J. (Piper) Adams.
Edward was a 1952 graduate of Lewistown High School.
He worked as a Prudential agent and then began a full-time gospel ministry in 1975.
He was a member of Lewistown Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Lewistown Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave., Juniata Terrace, with the Rev. John Looney officiating.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
