ALLENSVILLE - Aaron J. Swarey, 88, of 614 Front Mountain Road, Allensville, died 7:15 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, at his home.
He was born September 6, 1923, in Allensville, a son of the late David M. and Anna M. (Peachey) Swarey. He married wife Mary E. (Byler) Swarey December 11, 1947, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by: three children, Benjamin R. Swarey and wife, Bertha, of Mill Creek, Catherine M. Zook, of Moravia, N.Y., and Amanda N. Yoder and husband, Rudy B., of Allensville; brothers and sisters, Elizabeth B. Yoder, of Allensville, Anna M. King and husband, Stephen, of Belleville, Sarah Peachey and husband, Ben D., of Beaver, Ohio, and Mary M. Peachey and husband, Mose, of Belleville; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Swarey, of Allensville.
He was preceded in death by: three brothers, John D., David R., and Stephen F. Swarey; and son-in-law, Jacob K. Zook.
He was the founder of Sunset Welding, Allensville, where he worked as a machinist and welder. He also enjoyed gardening and cutting wood.
He was a member of Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at 612 Front Mountain Road, Allensville, and from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church, Green Lane, Belleville.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 23, at Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church, with Bishop David Peachey and Minister David Byler officiating.
