Contends most important election was already lost

To the editor:

I keep hearing that the upcoming election is the most important our nation has faced or will ever face. To this assertion, I politely say "bunk." From friends I hear things like: What could be more important than voting the absolute worst president we've ever suffered through, out of office? I am also reminded that our president somehow took our recession-burdened nation into a complete financial disaster. His economic stimulus programs which have now put our grandchildren into a lifetime of assured, expanding debt, have not reduced unemployment, and actually the unemployment rate would be even higher if the many discouraged persons, no longer looking for work, were included in the calculations. At this point I concur, and add that while enjoying a veto proof congress during his first two years, he didn't even produce a budget, and didn't produce one good change for the country, nothing to campaign on, and no good ideas to win with.

His only real accomplishment was the health care program, that by hook or crook, threat or reward, he passed. Of course you'll notice that neither he, nor his supporters mention health care while campaigning. I wouldn't either. Actually, you may notice that his and his supporters' campaigning consists of blaming Congress, blaming Wall Street, blaming business, blaming the Middle East, blaming Europe and even blaming ATMs for taking employees out of the banks, and of course blaming President Bush.

Now concerning Bush; Our president has come up with a new first. Never before in our nation's history has a sitting president blamed his predecessor for all his troubles for 3.5 years, and I'm sure he will sing the same song right up to election day. Using Ronald Reagan as an example: He wanted the job, won the election, and then fixed the country's ills, and I don't even remember him blaming the pathetic, incompetent Carter. His other big thing is playing the race card, and of course the class envy card. After this kind of discussion, we normally agree that knowing what we do about our commander in chief, only persons with their head under a rock, people with special interests, college students with no idea how bad the economy has become, because mommy and daddy have always paid the tab, and hearing from left wing professors, that all ills in our nation are caused by the evil racist, anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-child, anti-alien, anti-environmental, bible believing, right wing nuts.

Now back to my assertion that the upcoming election is not the most important in our nation's history. I believe that the most important election was the election of President Obama, and a Democrat Congress. The big, big loser in that election was all of America. My reasoning is that his administration, in my opinion, has done more damage to our nation than can ever be corrected. Granted, with a change in the presidency, and with complete control of Congress, by conservatives, some dictates could be reversed, but terrible programs like Obamacare were immediately woven so thoroughly into our system, that even if the entire plan is found unconstitutional, which is unlikely, it could not be completely removed from the system. The truth is that he has done absolutely nothing good for our country. I recall all the pious rhetoric and promises put out by candidate Obama. Unfortunately, just as in the novel "1984" in most cases, what he promised turned out to be exactly opposite of his actions as president. This would be laughable had so much damage not been done to our country.

With his coalition of special interest groups such as radical environmentalists, pro abortionists, gay rights activists, and with his promotion of racism, and class envy, including wealth redistribution, he has built a formidable voting block. Just last week he shored up his Hispanic vote by simply ordering authorities not to enforce parts of our immigration laws. Just today he invoked executive privilege, apparently to hide Eric Holder's and/or his own involvement in the illegal gun running scheme (Fast and Furious), designed to impose an eventual gun ban on our nation.

The really big difference between our two worst presidents (Carter and Obama), is that I believe that Carter was a good, sincere, Godly man, who was terribly inept. On the other hand, Obama and the shadowy forces behind him, in my opinion, know exactly what they are doing, and that is to ruin the economy, thus squashing the nation's creative spirit, and eventually forcing all persons to rely on the government - Big Brother - to manage our lives. If you are wondering what this plan is called, it is Socialism.

Now, as to the importance of the upcoming election. First, I believe that too much damage has been done to our once great nation and even in the unlikely possibility of a total Republican victory, that little will change, and while it might slow the process, we will remain on a downhill spiral. Second, I believe that President Obama, and the forces that support him, control all the levels of power, and with a left wing national press, willing to ignore his every mis-step while spouting the administration's Socialist propaganda, I don't believe that our president will leave office until he and/or his cabal decide it's time to go, and so, as stated before, the most important election of our time has already been lost. Our nation is in big trouble. I do make one prediction; In the near future, many will wonder how President Obama was ever elected in the first place, since very few will admit to having ever voted for him.
