Suggests voting as one wants without the outrage

July 2, 2012
Lewistown Sentinel

To the editor:

Mr. Zachary Dunmire's June 27 letter in answer to Bill Finkenbiner's earlier letter is hysterical in its hatred of Republicans, Fox News and the Tea Party. About Fox News, however, is it "fair and balanced" as it claims? Of course not-freely admitted. It always has been a channel for conservative opinion, and is now the most important counterweight to liberal press. Its importance in the national debate can be shown by ratings: Its evening shows attract such overwhelming audiences that outlets such as CNN and MSNBC have market shares that are almost irrelevant. This infuriates liberals like Mr. Dunmire, who are not used to having their confidence in an all-powerful, benevolent government be challenged by conservatives.

Mr. Dunmire, the liberal press told you that Obama would solve all our problems. (I wonder how much you knew about his past and his track record if you voted for him.) If you want to vote for him in November, go ahead; but on behalf of all of us who don't share your views, spare us your outrage.
