To the editor:
Which would you rather be: Intelligent, ignorant or stupid? Before you answer, let me tell you the actual meaning of these words as listed in Webster's New World Dictionary.
First is intelligent: Bright, perceptive, informed, clever, wise, etc. Second is ignorant: Having little knowledge, education or experience. Third is stupid: Lacking normal intelligence or understanding, slow-witted, dull. If you continue reading this letter, you might be intelligent or ignorant or both. It's very doubtful that you are stupid.
My question is this: Why do some intelligent people wish to remain or become ignorant? (I don't know, either.) To be specific, I am wondering how intelligent folks can continue to support President Obama unless they also are ignorant. They maintain a closed mind and no kind of logic or facts can get through to them.
As information, our president has said in his own words that he has been heavily into drinking beer and enthusiastically used cocaine. I believe that most thinking people would not want a person like this to be the leader of our great nation. And are you aware that he has increased our national debt by about $5 trillion in three and a half years? Also, he is responsible for causing our AAA credit rating to be lowered - the first time in our history that this has ever happened. If you never watch the Fox News Channel, you probably don't know these and other important facts.
He seems totally unable to tell the truth about any subject at any time or in any place. Finally, here is the absolutely most puzzling thing of all. If the government tried to force censorship on you by ordering you to never watch the Fox News Channel, most likely you would start or at least join a genuine armed revolution. But why, oh why, do you agree to willingly impose censorship on yourself because Mr. Obama tells you to? Truly baffling.
Help take our country off the socialistic path that it is on by becoming educated and making a difference. For your own sake and the well-being of our nation, don't remain ignorant. Please consider joining our local Tea Party or becoming otherwise informed.
